Man Down

Yep, little man is sick. It's sooooo sad. All day he just wanted to cuddle with mommy and here I am thinking, "How cute, he loves me!" But as I was holding him and giving him his bottle, his neck was burning up my arm, and I mean BURNING!! I always think he has a fever so I was like oh it's probably just me. So I let him finish his bottle and then on to the diaper change. That's when I realized his whole body was on fire. I said forget it, even if it is just me, at least I will know. I popped that thermometer in his little butt and the numbers shot right up!! When it stopped, it was at 103!!! No, I am not kidding you. The weirdo in me thought, ok maybe it's wrong because you haven't used the thermometer in a while. So what did I do? Popped it right back in to his cute little butt and sure enough, it shot to 103 in a second. I started panicking. What do you do when it's that high? I called Manny and told him to run every red light to get home, then I started calling people with kids! I know that's crazy, but I didn't want to over react or under react. Once I realized that I was perfectly capable of handling the situation I called our pediatrician. Then they made me panic again!! The nurse was like, "Get off the phone and get him in here ASAP!" I tried to explain to her that I was a good 20 minute drive and I know they closed in 15 min. She told me they didn't care that they needed to see him. By the time we made it to the Doctor's office poor Zachary's eyes were all red and so was his nose. I felt so bad for him and wished I could be sick for him. I had given him Tylenol as soon as I read his temp, so I was thinking that by the time we got to the doctor the fever would have broke, but nope. When the nurse took his temp it was still 103. My poor baby boy!!
Now I am sure you are dying to hear what was wrong with him and hear some big dramatic conclusion, but I have nothing for you people!! The doctor checked him out and said pump him with Motrin and keep an eye on his temp. He said since his fever just spiked today, it could take a day or too for whatever is causing it to show up. So now I just have one sleepy baby with poor red sad droopy eyes.

Cute, I know.

He just keeps getting cuter and cuter folks. I know I am a little biased but it's my blog and I will brag if I want to. He is now into climbing onto everything. I love watching him. You can see the wheels of his brain turning as he is trying to figure out how to climb under or over stuff. Oh and he hates sitting down. The minute you put him down, he is pulling himself up onto something. As I am typing this, the little monkey is trying to climb over my leg to get to the keyboard, it never ends people!!

Celebrity Encounter

Ok ok, so he may not be an A-Lister, but he is pretty cool in my book. Matt Lorenz, the winner of Top Design season 1 on BRAVO, is Manny's brother in law. Pretty cool right? I think so. Him and his wife(yes he is married), Veronica, came to Vegas this past weekend to visit and I am pretty sure that they are two of the coolest people I know. I teased them all weekend about being celebrities because I think it's awesome! He has amazing talent and I am on a quest to make sure everyone knows it. Those of you who are fans of the Ellen Show, stay tuned, because I am putting my money down on the fact that he will be on there one day and he will be the next big thing in the design world!
P.S. That's not his wife in the photo, that is the second runner up, Carissa.

Too many hobbies......Wwwhhaatt??

I am one of the lucky ones and I get to stay at home and take care of my house and baby. In between chores and diaper changes I am always looking for new hobbies. Those of you that know me, know I have always been a huge scrapbooker (is that a word?). I also love paper crafts. I guess I just love making things. Lately my mind has been going a mile a minute thinking about all the things I could do at home. Sewing is something that seems like a lot of fun to me. I found a pattern for nursing covers and I am thinking about making them to sell along with matching burp cloths. Even if I am not extremely successful with them, I would love to give them as gifts and plus, sewing is always a good talent to have.
Baking is also a passion of mine. We just moved into our new home and it has a double oven, WOO WOO, so I have been trying out new recipes and different goodies.
The last thing I have started is EBAY. To me, it is fun, super easy and brings in some extra cash. So why not right?
Now, some people out there might be negative and say that I have too many things that I want to do, but it's ok. I do have a lot that I am interested in, but I don't think that is a bad thing. Look at my girls Martha and Oprah. They have LOTS of different things they are involved in and look where it got them. I am not saying I will be anywhere near as successful as them, but I do believe that anything you put your mind to, you can do. If you are passionate about one thing or lots of things, I say ignore your critics and go for it, that's what I am doing. Who knows, maybe one day you will see my brand of Nursing Covers and Burp Cloths on store shelves.
Wish full thinking? I think not!

Naptime

I just want to say, that I love when my baby tries to see how long he can go without a nap. It is probably my most favorite thing ever!! When he gets so tired that he is screaming his head off, that is fun too. And I want another one, HA!
